Community food bank and wellbeing garden.

Over the last two years we have been working hard to create a community food bank and social supermarket for our school and local community. We have started to develop an area of the school grounds to accommodate our food bank in a separate on site cabin building. With the help and support of a team of volunteers we have been able to clear and prepare the grounds and now have our cabin in position. We now need to raise funds to equip the cabin building with storage racks and catering equipment which will enable us to run our food bank from. Funds raised will also enable us to create a wellbeing garden and woodland school to further enhance the wellbeing of our community. We are raising funds to create the garden which will include a woodland learning area, a Teepee story area, a sensory garden, a wild meadow, mud kitchen and outdoor seating area. This project will be of great importance in enhancing the wellbeing of our school community. It will offer a range of opportunities for all those involved with Barnby Road Academy and the local community.
