    Story

I am taking part in Tough Mudder as I would like to raise money for Beacon House. I have seen first hand the amazing care they give and I feel this would be a great way to raise money for them to help them continue giving amazing support.

When I heard about Tough Mudder and what it involved it made me think of the challenging job of those at Beacon House. I can imagine it being tough and challenging yet I can also imagine it being extremely rewarding at the finish line. Yet for Beacon House they continue to work hard and don't stop!

Tough Mudder is a 10-12 mile mud and obstacle course designed to take you out of your comfort zone and test your physical strength, stamina, and mental grit. It’s a challenge that requires teamwork and pushing yourself to achieve something so extreme - making you realise you're tougher than you think!

For me, this relates to Beacon house who provide such amazing care for all of their residents and ensure they have an amazing quality of life. Although they possibly don't think of themselves as tough they do a job many of us couldnt imagine doing and they do it to amazing standards! One of the residents was Yvonne Sutherland who sadly passed away this year but her life was filled with love and happy memories thanks to Beacon House. Even after Yvonne's death, the continued support from the staff shined through as they continue to support Yvonne's family. They also welcomed Yvonne's family and friends into Beacon House to celebrate her life after her funeral which was very touching and also very thoughtful as it meant all of the residents could be a part of the celebrations of Yvonne's life.

The staff are exceptional and deserve recognition and funding for all they have done and continue to do. Yvonne's passing does not end our strong bond with Beacon House and we will continue to support them.

Please take part and do something extraordinary today! Help those who help others!

    Thank you!

    Steven
