💬 Why I’m Doing This
Every morning this November, I’ll be walking 5km at 5am to raise funds for Pegasus – Men’s Wellbeing Centre CIC, the organisation I founded to support men’s mental health, trauma recovery, and emotional wellbeing.
At 5am, my dad, Tadeusz Nowak, used to wake up and get ready for work. He worked hard every single day of his life.
He was also a silent victim of domestic abuse — a kind, gentle man who carried his pain quietly.
My dad died because he didn’t know how to talk about his feelings and emotions.
On the day of his accident, 30th Nov 2001, my mother was undergoing surgery for a mastectomy. He didn’t speak to anyone about how he felt that day. While working on a chimney, he lost his balance and fell.
He was 53 years old — the same age I will turn this coming January.
Twenty-four years have passed since his light went out, but I think of him every day, and I miss him terribly.
So this November, I’ll walk for him — and for every man who wakes too early with heavy thoughts, unsure how to speak, and carrying pain alone.
🌅 The Challenge
I’ll be walking 5km at 5am every morning in November — before the world wakes up — to honour my dad’s memory and raise awareness for men’s mental health.
By the end of the month, I’ll have walked 150km before sunrise — each step a reminder that healing, hope, and connection are possible.
💙 Why Pegasus
Since 2014, Pegasus has supported over 7,000 men to overcome mental health challenges, heal from trauma, and rebuild their confidence.
As a psychotherapist and founder, I’ve witnessed the courage it takes for men to open up and ask for help.
This challenge is my personal way of continuing that work — of shining light where silence once lived.
Our mission is clear and powerful:
Support and encourage all men to achieve their full potential.
🎯 My Goal
I’m aiming to raise £1,000 — enough to help fund a series of therapy sessions, peer support groups, and wellbeing workshops for men in need — offering connection, understanding, and hope when life feels overwhelming.
Every pound helps us reach another man who deserves support, care, and encouragement.
The money will help Pegasus team support men in our communities. Pegasus started small in Cornwall, but now it covers London, Bournemouth and Devon. We love to help evry men who need our support.
£10 - £15 - cost of the room hire for 1h of counselling session - this is example of what your money will use for.
