Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
The time has finally come for us to give a fitting tribute and closure to the loss of a very special person a kind soul and loving mother, aunty and sister to many. "Naima"
On her passing Naima's wishes were not respected and those closest to her were left alienated. All her life she had been abused by the legacy and behaviour of those looking to control and curtail her kindred free spirited nature, in the name of faith she did not follow.
Naima believed in freedom and loved nature, her beliefs were not set in stone and she thought if there was a god, only a kind god would she accept and respect.
This being the case preference is for a spiritual non religious humanist affair with “Naima” taking President over all.
As you may know, the planting of a tree has already been arranged.
This is being provided by a local council in a fantastic location.
The tree will be maintained and a tree guard and plaque is also being added.
I'd like to also lay an environmentally friendly wreath of flowers in the river near by.
A reception will give opportunity for people to meet up and share memories, and meet those from Naima's past to present and understand how she touched our lives.
The day will consist of a:
Tree planting ceremony.
Riverside wreath laying ceremony.
Reception, food etc.
Naima was a fun colourful person and our parting memories should reflect this.
I will need help with the costs and arrangements and I know many of you will want to be a part of this. I don't want to cut corners, Naima is worth more than that. It's not about extravagance it's about keeping it beautiful and within what she would have wanted.
I will throw in all I can, but I can't do this all on my own.
The tree will be £600 plus, which I'm willing to pay for by myself if necessary.
Then venue, catering etc could be under £400. If excess is raised to what is required it can go towards her daughter's Sara's education.
I will keep a list and copy of receipt of costs etc for transparency.
I have already received kind donations of £70.00 and £30.00 so far.
If I can get funds raised fast and get everything booked and in place, it will save me a lot of anxiety and give us all peace of mind with a set date and plan of action.
Thank you everyone who has and intends to contribute, it is so important that Naima leaves her mark on this world in a form of a beautiful tree for generations to appreciate and that her memory lives on within us, the ones she left behind in a positive light.
I'll keep you posted of developments.
Kindest regards. Paul x
