June is MND awareness month.
Help me smash this target and show Gib how much we care. This is my first EVER 10k run and I want do it for cause that is so close to our hearts. Gib is one of our best friends and we will continue to fight with him and say "screw you MND, you will not win, you will not beat us".

In January, Carl and Amy made it out of the house and to the hospital where Carl's neurologist told him he was now in respiratory failure and gave him a prognosis of around one year.
Six months into those twelve and Carl faces challenges I didn't know it was possible for a person to overcome.
He is now completely paralysed. He has no speech at all. He is nil by mouth - he hasn't eaten or drank a thing since last year and is tube fed shakes and medication directly into his stomach. He uses a ventilator on an evening and in the day when he can tolerate it. When he can't, he struggles with breathing and choking constantly.
He wants to go outside but he is in so much pain and so exhausted from lack of oxygen and sleep that he can't make it.
He requires 24 hour care from myself, family and carers to help with everything from stretching a finger to making sure he is comfortable using his ventilator as he cannot communicate to tell you if he isn't.

He is 32 years old.
