Over 82% of the population lives in multidimensional poverty, with the multidimensional poverty rate in Lebanon nearly doubling since 2019 (ESCWA 2021). With the deepening economic crisis, one in five households is consuming an inadequate diet and almost one out of every two Lebanese households have reported reducing their food consumption in favor of children at home (LCRP 2021).

In order to protect the most vulnerable, Bedayati is accelerating its efforts to help fight food insecurity. Through our Community Kitchen, we have been offering wholesome meals since June 2020 to those who need them the most in Beirut, providing over 52,364 meals so far and creating short-term employment opportunities for over 50 youths.
