We are seeking to raise £2500 to allow twins Timmy and Callum Kennedy the chance to represent Scotland Rugby League Under 19’s at this summer’s European Championship in Belgrade, Serbia and in 2 fixtures that follow the tournament against Cumbria and England Lions.

The Rugby League European Federation is re-launching the U19 European Championship after a 12-year gap. This is an amazing opportunity to represent Scotland, competing against England, France, Wales, Ireland, Russia, Serbia and either Italy or Ukraine.

The talented duo, who have only been playing rugby league for twelve months, have been selected on the back of their try-scoring exploits for club side Edinburgh Eagles, and stand-out performances in last season’s Scotland U19 representative games, each being capped twice for Scotland last season. Callum’s eye-catching ability has also earned him a place at Newcastle Thunder U19’s Academy this season.

As rugby league is still very much a developing sport in Scotland, little funding is available and all players, including Timmy and Callum, have to raise their own funds in order to continue their personal development and fulfil their dreams of representing their country at a major competition. The cost to each player in this instance is £1250.

If anyone is in a position to donate or can sponsor Timmy and/or Callum, and in turn help the game of rugby league develop domestically by allowing “home-grown” players to represent Scotland in international competitions, then we would be very grateful for any contributions.

Any surplus funds raised will be donated to the Rugby League Cares Charity.
