On 15th October I'll be running Birmingham International Marathon. Not only do I aim to run faster than I've ever run before but I'd like to use the opportunity to raise much needed funds for our lovely village school.

Woodchurch CE Primary School is a fully inclusive school in rural Kent. The staff are wonderful and work tirelessly to provide the best possible education for our children, including mine, Stanley in year 2.

The school is suffering like many state schools to provide adequate facilities for their children. Although funds are much needed throughout the school to further improve many resources, it's the playground for me that particularly needs renewing. And so, encouraged by my boy Stanley to run for a new playground, I would like you, as generous givers, to have this in mind as the focus for the funds raised.

In aid of this cause, I'm taking on the daunting task of running a marathon personal best nearly 7 years since my last. Knowing my efforts may not only appease my middle aged ego but will benefit our local school, should be incentive enough to drive me to achieve this goal. So if you can bear to dig deep and back me by donating on this site, your support will truly make the last 6 months of running up to 40 miles every week well worthwhile and more importantly make 160 plus children very happy.
