In August I am volunteering for SkatePal, an organisation committed to building skate parks and growing communities in rural villages in Palestine's West Bank through teaching skateboarding. I am going to use some of my skills (teaching, not skating) to help what they are doing there.

Palestine has a massive youth population (more than half are under 21) but are severely limited by their circumstances. Skateboarding is a way for young people to make friends, help break down barriers and give young people confidence and a smile. I am hoping to be able to raise some money for this charity so they can continue their amazing work in the area. Part of the money (£200) goes to the charity to pay for my living in accomodation over there but I am hoping to raise an additional £300 to keep the charity doing what they do. Your support will go a long way to helping young people in one of the most difficult and broken parts of the world feel like they belong to a vibrant and exciting community.
