Hello,

My name is Benjamin and I’m 12 years old. I love to play table tennis and my ambition is to represent England at senior level and then become world champion.

I travel the country with my Dad playing in ranking competitions and I train 4 times per week also. I have a great coach that works with me on a 1-1 basis and I attend other group training sessions. Unfortunately there are no clubs in my area that cater for performance players so I have to train in sports halls etc with my dad to supplement my training. Well, that was until my Dad got a new office for work and will be turning part of it into a training room. We wont have it till October 1st but then I can practice as much as I like.

For me to get the best practice I can I’m asking my friends and family if they can help me raise some money towards a training robot. "What is a training robot?” I hear you ask. It’s a machine that fires balls out at me with precision placement and spin in set patterns. Basically it can replace my coach for certain parts of my training and within 50hrs of use I would have paid the same for my coach. My Mum and Dad already spend a fortune so I thought I’d try and raise some money myself.

The robot costs £1225 (The price has gone down by £25 since the page started)

I’ve already raised £150 by doing car boot sales, selling my old toys and books. So I would like to ask for some help in raising the remaining £1100, any contribution will be gratefully received.

P.S If we don't raise enough for the robot this time we will save it till we have enough.
