Turkey hosts the largest population of refugees in the world with over 3.5 million refugees currently reported to be living there, and over 75% of these reported to children and women. Although over 90% of these are living in urban areas and not in camps, the problem is far from over. Many refugees who have had to flee their home took nothing with them, losing material belongings as well as qualifications and the ability to drive. Inspired by the UN #rationchallenge, from the 30th May-6th June I will be living off rice, flour, lentils, chick peas, beans, fish and oil. I will cook my meals outside on a camping stove and aim to walk 100km over the 7 days. Living just a small part of the challenge the refugees have faced for years. The money I raise will then go with my parents as they fly to Turkey on the 7th June, to support refugees as part of a project in Yalova.
