I am a Degree student studying Event Management and Marketing.  As part of the second year of our three year course, we are required to put on a live event and myself and two other students have set up an event company called Events22 to facilitate this.  The event we are in the process of organising is called ‘The Great Manx Cake Off’, which is a charitable event for professional bakers to compete against each other to bake and ice cakes shaped like Manx monuments (several bakers which we have contacted have already expressed a keen interest in participating).  The public will be able to spectate and vote on the winning cake.  Once iced, the cakes will be displayed on an oversized map of the Isle of Man and the overall winner will be announced.  In addition, we are hoping to organise a small Manx market at the event to promote and sell local produce.  The event will be held on Sunday 19 March 2017, from 1pm until 5:30pm and will raise funds for autism on the Isle of Man.  All proceeds will go to Autism Initiatives Manx branch, charity number 835. Please help Events22 raise essential funds and awareness for autism through, what we are sure will be, a very enjoyable day for competitors and spectators alike.
