Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and contribute to improve the living conditions of these hopeful Sri Lankan families.
I am raising money to help provide two families with basic necessities for their homes. Currently, they have built their houses by borrowing money and through other donations. The breadwinners of the family earn just enough to feed their family on a daily basis.
The mother of the first family has many major health conditions to which the cures are unknown, she struggles to walk and complete her basic needs. Also, her right eye is severely damaged. If anyone needs evidence and medical reports, I will personally email the documents to you ( For privacy purposes). They have a squatting toilet, which needs to be replaced with a sitting toilet, which will suffice the ill mother as well her husband who is aged over 60. He does not have a fixed job due to his age and health conditions therefore he does jobs when requested. He lacks financial stability as his pay is less than £1 or nothing some days. We as a group would like to improve their toilet and build a shower (£800) and provide better roofing to prevent water leakages ( £600) and fix the errors in the house for safety such as doors and windows (£200).
The second family is struggling to make ends meet as their father is unemployed due to Varicose (illness with the veins) . He has to provide food for his family and accommodate for his three younger children. His wife has diabetes and has breathing problems. They find it hard to make ends meet. Their shower is located outside their home, lacking coverage and privacy. It's very dangerous for women and children as it puts their safety at risk. Their toilet is a squatting toilet which is in a confined space, lacking light. Their house flooring is plain mud and sand. We would need to build their toilet and shower (£800) and would like to level their flooring (£1000) and improve the hygiene of the kitchen, creating a stable countertop and a safe place to store food (£600).
We would like to raise the funds before ramadan ends Inshallah. We would start the work as soon as we hit the target. 100% of the funding will go to these two families, evidences will be provided throughout the whole journey via this funding page plus my charity page: @Shelter_charity. This help would provide a life change opportunity for two families who have been struggling in many aspects, they would forever be grateful to your donations. We can assure you that any contribution regardless of the amount would mean a-lot for the team.
If you do have any enquiries, please don't hesitate to message us by email or our socials as stated above .
