I have always pondered about the idea of doing a long distance bike ride for fun but having 4 young children I want to spend my weekends with and not much other free time between work and homelife, and the fact that I have never really ridden a bike that far before, made this idea just a dream. However I have now decided to make this dream, a reality.

I have also decided to do it for a reason and that reason is to raise much needed funds for the pre school my children have attended/ are currently attending/ will be attending. All the money i raise will go to St Catherine's Pre School where they will put it towards resources needed. I do consider early years education to be extremely important for the social and emotional development for our little people and for my wife who is a stay at home mum a little break from our 3 year old.

In September 2018 I broke my foot and ankle playing football, being a self employed carpenter, Having the operation to correct it, wasnt an option. So I continue to work each day, fighting the pain.

So this challenge I have set myself of riding 430 miles, in 5 days from london to Fishguard, West Wales on my old trusty mountain bike in February will be particularly rewarding for me and I am hoping make my children proud of me as well as raise money for St Catherine's Pre School.
