Weʼre raising £4,500 to Camp Kenya Expedition 2020. I will be working on projects such as tree planting, animal de-worming and low level construction.
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
As soon as I found out about this opportunity in school I wanted to be part of it immediately. To help people who are a lot less fortunate than myself will be an amazing experience, how brilliant it will be to make a difference to lives so far away from where I live.
I will be working on projects such as tree planting, animal de-worming, elephant poo paper making, repairing classrooms and building community housing. Other projects include low level construction, painting, plastering, brick laying etc.
I will also get to see some creative recycling and building techniques. The aim of which is to build/repair buildings that benefit the local school and wider community. I will also undertake cultural activities and experience life in rural Kenya.
My first big fundraising event will be a 12 hour cycleathon on 12 January 2019 between 08:00 and 20:00 at Nuffeild Gym in Cwmbran.
