Weʼve raised £1,034 to Help fund a School sensory/wellbeing garden to say thanks to the school for their adapted support for Jamie during lockdowns

Funded on Tuesday, 28th September 2021

    Story

During the last year, Jamie has discovered the joy of tandem riding (due to the school introducing him to this on a residential trip). He has also had great support from some of the teaching staff during the pandemic, enabling him to work independently through lockdown, just like his siblings. Something he is very proud of.

When we heard that the school were trying to raise funds to create a sensory/wellbeing garden, using their Gardening Club, we wanted to help out. Creating a sensory/wellbeing garden for children after the last year is such a great idea. A place for them to relax and revive, a much needed asset to any school.

Having a gardening club where children learn about the joys of growing things is a great life skill and Jamie is delighted to be able to do his bit to help the school.

To raise funds, Jamie will be cycling a minimum of 50 miles on a tandem on 26th June 2021

We have a few volunteers lined up to help. Volunteers were required as none of us are as young as we used to be.(plus cycling on a tandem is a different experience to cycling on a bike - especially when your passenger forgets that he’s supposed to be pedalling too)!

Every little helps so please donate, and if you are not in a position to donate, please share and spread the word.
