Bolton Lions Club are a registered charity. Lions members are all volunteers. All money raised by the club is used to support good causes. Any administration costs is covered by the members themselves and not from money donated.

For over 30 years Bolton Lions Club has supported over 1550 young people at Christmas through its Toy Appeal, with thousands of new toys being given to children who otherwise would have nothing at Christmas. Sadly COVID-19, in 2020, had an impact on our annual appeal and we could not do it, in its usual form. We therefore partnered with the Bolton Family including Bolton at Home, Bolton Action Group and Bolton FM, and with the support of the Bolton public, raised an amazing £39,000, which ensured that no child went without at Christmas. In 2021, we are appealing to the great people of Bolton, to again help us. Whilst the Bolton Lions Club is back doing its toy appeal, in its traditional format, and all new, or good as new toys, for all ages, are welcomed, we do find it challenging to get the right items for youngsters of secondary school age. As such we have decided, after some consultation, to offer toy vouchers instead, which enable the recipients to choose for themselves. We are looking to raise £15,000 to help do this, and enable the Club to either purchase vouchers, or toys for the appropriate ages.
