You’ll find The Wild Animal Kingdom between Aberystwyth and Machynlleth on a little hill by the sea in a quaint village named Borth in Mid West Wales, overlooking the beautiful Ceredigion coastline, sits this haven for exotic animals and home for rescued pets. We have free parking and the zoo is just a few minutes walk from the railway station, High Street and beach.

It's a place where you can get up close and personal to over 100 different species of animals, birds, reptiles and insects to learn about them and gain a better appreciation for all kinds of wildlife.

Dean and Tracy Tweedy took over this sanctuary for native and exotic animals along with their family in May 2017 and have certainly got their work cut out. Their first priority is to continue the good care of the animals. The zoo will be undergoing major modernisation over the next few years with plans to open up the hill and give the animals larger, more interesting enclosures where they can live in comfort.

All of our animals have a story of how they came to be with us. Some have come from other zoo's where they were no longer wanted. Others have come from owners who can no longer manage their exotic pets. We aim to provide them with a safe place to live for the rest of their lives.

The running costs of this establishment are huge around £12000 a month. I have been visiting Borth for the past 40 years and I adore the place. I want to help these guys make a success of what they are trying to do here and to keep the Animal Kingdom open for all of us to appreciate and visit.
