    Story

Please support my boxing match! My pain will be incidental!! I'm 51, win or lose, Daisy benefits! She's a lot tougher than me!
A friend of my Son, Daisy Wigginton 4, has been diagnosed with T-Cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma, a Cancer. In late 2016, after numerous check-ups & visits for a suspicious cough, Daisy was finally found to have a tumour that was blocking her airway & a collapsed lung. None of us can probably begin to imagine being given such devastating news about one of our own children. Overnight their world fell apart. With 2 other children, the family literally dropped everything to concentrate on the one singular struggle they face. That is where you can help.
Daisy is under the expert help of Southampton Gen & St Richards Hospitals beginning a tough fight against this hideous & indiscriminate disease. Some of her care can be given at home (even some of the chemotherapy) but whilst the NHS is superbly supplying the medicine & expert help she needs, its the help that they don't supply that we are hoping to help address.
Daisy’s parents are living away from home as Daisy is in hospital 40 miles away receiving Chemotherapy and steroids as well as other drugs. They have a 5 yo and an 8 wk old baby & are unable to work as one of them has to stay by her side day and night.
Daisy’s family & friends are giving their all to make sure that Daisy beats this disease. Daisy should be living like any other child of her age but is in bed, wobbly, unwell & tired. All a huge contrast from the child that she was; she loved being on her bike or playing with her sisters but now has lost all interest. we remember Daisy & Howard, our son, haring around Wittering Beach together!
The ultimate aim is to get Daisy better, help her through the 2.5 year treatment plan & get back that infectious smile. Ideally she will spend time at home but to do that she will need a special walker, a specialist bed, temperature readers, BP monitor, & a myriad of other medical equipment.

Well, what a night. Thank you so much to everyone that got involved throughout the whole event. Sponsors, friends, random strangers (and there were quite a few),Rob, Susan, Jules and Billy at Gloves on, The Marriott, my opponent, Louise & Barry, the list goes on and on. I may not have won but drawn the bout (despite giving the bugger 20 years!!) but all your combined generosity and support has helped, in no small way either, Daisy and her Family’s fight now and in the future. Thank you all again! An emotional night eh? No more fighting!

A quick update from Daisy's parents. Daisy Has so far had an eventful few months, from beginning of diagnosis in December up until now she has undergone Chemotherapy, Steroid treatment & had a central line infection which ended with her line being removed under general anaesthetic & put back in again a few weeks later. Daisy is sporting her last little bit of hair now as treatment has made it fall out; of course she wants to be Rapunzal so this is a bit of a blow to her!
