Espernaza Verde Peru

I am fund raising for my volunteering trip to Esperanza Verde ( Nonprofit organisation) who "rescue animals from the illegal wildlife trade and release them back into the wild".

I will be living in the heart of the Peruvian Amazon for 6 weeks without mains electricity and an hour away from any civilisation.

My day will begin preparing the animal's food and then feeding them. I may also have to help in the construction of animal shelters or enclosures where they stay while going through rehabilitation.

The Peruvian Amazon also suffers from deforestation, 250,000 hectares annually. This leaves many animals without a habitat which is how some of them end up at Esperanza Verde. I will be helping to replant trees and vegetation in the hope of regaining some sort of biodiversity in the region. Esperanza Verde protect and preserve 180 hectares of rainforest.

I think that this project and many others like it are important because they are not big companies which charge thousands for you to participate, they are independent organisations working to make a real difference and I am so determined to be part of that.

Any donations, no matter the amount, will be very much appreciated by me but more importantly by the wildlife which is so vulnerable because of the human race, if we are the ones destroying it, we are certainty the ones responsible and its down to us to fix it, this is the start of my contribution to fixing it.
