Weʼre raising £2,000 to raise funds for facilities for a hydrotherapy pool used by people with profound and multiple learning disabilities.

What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

I have been working as a physiotherapist at the Bevern View care home for over a decade, and have witnessed the brilliant work they do to enhance the quality of life for their residents. They fund for myself and two physiotherapy assistants to promote the residents' functional movement, optimal posture management, and health and well being. We use a great hydrotherapy pool that has transformed the lives of all the residents in so many ways. Unfortunately the pool covers now need renewing, and the general condition and faciltities of the pool needs attention. The costs will total approximately £2000.

Since 2016 Bevern View allowed my physiotherapy company, StarPhysio, to use the hydrotherapy pool so we can offer the facilities to the Sussex community. As a thank you to Bevern View, I would like to help them keep this important and life changing facility running.

So on 17th May 2019 I will be on the start line of the “Beast” 200 mile Enduroman Ultra Marathon. This consists of 182 laps of a 1.1 mile course around the New Forest, with a time limit of 60 hours. So I hope to raise £100 for each mile run/staggered/crawled.

Please help me keep this great facility running for the residents of Bevern View and the disabled community of Sussex.

Started training in earnest yesterday: a 21 miler from Angmering to Hove. The gale force westerly wind helped a lot, but I'm still a bit achy. But I need to get my legs used to aching and running when tired. So tomorrow starts the regular 5:30am early morning runs.

Indeed, you are bonkers, but then, without you, the facility wouldn't be able to continue it's great work. All the best for the run - such a great cause. Pauline x
