Jaguars in Costa Rica are at a high risk of extinction due to habitat loss. The clearing of forests for farmland has pushed Jaguar populations towards rural communities that see them as a threat to their livestock. This often results in retaliation from landowners. Gente y Fauna, the organisation with whom I will be working, aims to promote co-existence between people and Jaguars through close monitoring and education. This is a very important issue for me as a lover of big cats and someone who wants to work in conservation one day.

I am planning on doing the Big Cotswold Open Water Swim on the 7th of July to help fundraise my volunteer work. any contribution would be greatly appreciated.
