Weʼre raising £200 to fund a specialist equipment for my collegues disabled father following a recent accident by completing the Abbey Dash Leeds 10km.
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
Chris Hardy, Tom Brown, Liam Sanderson, Adam Humphreys, Sam Foster and Kathryn Frosdick are running the Abbey Dash 10km to help raise funds for Claire Johnson and Heather Wells father following his recent accident.

'In May whilst on our family holiday in the Lakes we went on a mountain bike ride and my Dad unfortunately came off his bike and sustained some significant injuries. With the help of the emergency services, as well as the luck of some medically trained passer-by's my Dad was successfully flown to Preston Royal Hospital via air ambulance and the amazing staff here saved his life. He spent over a week in an induced coma, and in total spent 5 weeks in intensive care, before being transferred to Sheffield Northern General where he is now recovering to the best of his abilities on the spinal ward.
I am looking to raise £1000 to buy my Dad a new laptop which has a number of different functions to allow him to continue with everyday activities which me and you take for granted, however since my Dads accident he will no longer be able to perform these without help from this device.
The injuries which he has sustained are life changing, although the vertebrae breaks in his neck have now healed, the spinal cord is irreparable and he has been left completely paralysed from his second vertebrae. As a result of the damage he is unable to breathe for himself and as such will remain on a ventilator for life.
My Dad is a strong and determined man, and with the help and guidance from the excellent staff in Sheffield he is looking to return home next year, however my parents house needs to be extended and adapted so this is possible. We are trying to make things as easy as possible for when he returns, as well as giving him some normality, and feel that with the help of a new laptop which has specialised voice recognition, as well as retinal identification functions, he will be able to complete every day tasks which will help improve his independence and his communication.
This has been a very tough few months for us as a family but we have been inspired by his desire to fight and become the best person he can with the disabilities which he has sustained through a tragic accident'
