    Story

Hi - I'm Brian and I work for Barclays Corporate in Bristol. Next summer, Barclays is supporting 20 staff members and 20 guests (disabled or disadvantaged beneficiaries) to sail on a 4-day voyage from Cardiff to Bristol.

With close links to St Werburghs City Farm (charity number 297091), I have buddied up with one of their volunteers - James, a young man with learning difficulties. The idea is that during the sail, Barclays staff support their guest beneficiary to take part in all aspects of rigging, lifting, pulling, sweeping, heaving and cleaning the tall ship. However, James has more energy, enthusiasm and strength than a pack of beavers and as such, I imagine that he will be the one supporting me!

Each staff member has to fundraise for their own costs. Barclays will match this to cover the cost for each guest beneficiaries.

So to get James on the trip of a life time, myself and the team at St Werburghs City Farm have come up with a cunning plan....

To host an event - Boiling Wells Bonfire Night on Saturday 5th November. We ran this event and succeeded in smashing our target!

Massive thank you to all those that came and enjoyed!
