Story
So many of us enjoyed the Dan-Kira dancers at the Country Cultures night earlier this year. How about we get them back? If we can raise enough we will invite them back for Black History Week at the school for a special event. This time we will get the kids involved. A fun dance display for the kids in the afternoon and then an early evening event for the parents afterwards. If you think this would be a great idea then please lend your support. Give whatever you can.

6 years agoOk, so plans have had to change a little due to Mr Perry's assembly, so we will now do the parent dance sesh at 3pm next Thurs which I think will work better anyway. So come half an hour early for pick up if you want to join (or just watch) the fun.

6 years agoSo as I was saying, we can't really do an evening thing. The dancers charge by the hour and we have them for 5 hours, so with clubs, the after school thing won't work. The good news is, we can do the parents' thing straight after drop off. I know it is shame not to have a big party like we had at the Country Cultures night, but this time it is more about the kids and Black History week. Please do come along and join the fun next Thursday morning if you can though. And HUGE thank you for generously helping get the dancers back for the kids.

6 years agoThank you so much for pitching in. So we have booked the guys for next Thursday, the 18th. Yay! Super generous Mr Schumm has offered to pay the difference from school funds, so amazingly the dancers will be able to do workshops all day for the kids. They will teach dances and talk a little about the dances from different regions. So the only bad news is that logistically, we can't really do an evening thing too. There is good news though, but JustGiving has a word limit so I will have to explain in another update... stay tuned.
