Story
Steve Carey was a British folk musician, artist and poet who died after a long battle with cancer on 12 January 2007, at a Hospice in the Netherlands.
We're raising money to have Steve's body cremated and bring his remains back to his family in the UK, before his grave in Amsterdam is cleared.

7 years agoAnother poem from Steve's website: What was important Nearing the end, I think back on what was important. The jobs I’ve done The places I’ve lived, Holidays and travel My motorbikes and guitars. The songs I’ve written And the paintings I’ve painted Politics and society Books, films and television. The sex and the drugs And the fantastic concerts I’ve been to. But it’s only love and friendship I remember that count, Maybe it’s because that’s all you can take with you.

Sarah Jane Boden has generously requested that I donate in lieu of a Christmas gift. Steve once burnt her favourite saucepan and then tried to hide the evidence, but it appears he is now forgiven 😀
