This summer I am going to be taking part in an international voluntary teaching project in Pune, South India.
The project involves working closely with teachers and leaders across a range of settings to improve and further develop their teaching practices. I will be coaching and leading teacher training for teachers who receive little or no professional development.
Context in Pune.
India has 440 million children. Whilst enrolment into primary schools is high, 65% of students leave school without basic literacy and numeracy skills and 1 in 4 children of school going age drop out of school. The need for a systematic approach to the issue of poor quality education in under-resourced schools is becoming increasingly important in India.
This will be an amazing and life changing opportunity where I can make a positive difference in a very diverse context. Your support and donations will help to fund the cost of the fellowship, the accommodation, transport and any resources needed.
This is an voluntary programme so every little will help! I would appreciate any donations.
