I have set this crowdfunding page up to help raise money for the community run "Broomhill Day Centre" based in Penicuik.

The reason for setting this page up is to help fund repairs and running costs for the day centre as is seems to be a continued target of vandalism.

I am sick of hearing about the mindless events that occur and feel it is only right that we as a community step in and help, I am going to be giving money from my Business to help grow the funding pot, All i ask is for anyone who can spare even just a few pound to chip in, Once the target has been met, I will personally write a cheque and hand it over to Broomhill Day Centre. With a massive thanks to all.

Broomhill Day Centre cares for the elderly and socially isolated in our community. They offer a place for people to socialise and relax. They provide lunch and a full entertainment and activities programme. Many members suffer from dementia or alzheimers and the staff are fully trained to care for all. They also have a large number of volunteers who help with the running of day to day tasks...

Members are collected from home by mini-bus and brought to the day centre. Tea/coffee and toast or home baking is served on arrival and a 2 course lunch is prepared and cooked on the premises daily.
Members can enjoy dominoes, cards, board games or crafts or simply a chat with friends. They also have a weekly morning gentle exercise programme and afternoon activities such as slide shows, sing-a-longs, quizzes, reminiscence, flower arranging, arts and crafts. Members are taken home by mini-bus at around 3PM each day.
