Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
We are raising money to build an orphanage in Kenya for 50 children.
We are supporting a wonderful man Eric and group of Sisters in Kenya who desperately need our help. The Sisters run an orphanage in Eldoret, which is going to be closed down in March 2019 due to them being evicted off the land where they are currently housed. This means all the children will be homeless and living on the streets. This often means that they will become victims of abuse, trafficking or could even loose their life. Many of the children have disabilities so it is devastating to think this could happen.
Eric has dedicated his life to charity projects and is a man on a mission to build a new orphanage. They have been donated 5 acres of land to build a new orphanage on, so we now need to raise money for this to be completed. This sounds like a very short amount of time to raise the money and build, however buildings in Kenya are very quick to build so we have a chance for this to happen in time.
Take A Minute To Listen To Sister Josephine Explain Why They Need Our Help So Urgently.
There are 50 children in the orphanage ranging in age from 1 - 18 years. Some of the children have disabilities. The current living conditions in the orphanage are poor, so this is a great opportunity to give the children and sisters a much nicer place to live. As you can see by the photos below the building has already started with some money which has been raised already. We now need to raise the funds to complete the build in time and fit out the building.
What The Money Is Being Raised For
2 dormitories will be built, one for 28 boys and a second for 22 girls. There will be accommodation built for the sisters to live in so they can look after the children. These buildings will be fitted with a kitchen, toilets, shower rooms, water systems, electricity and drainage.
The orphanage will be self sufficient with a small holding so they can produce their own food.
Eric Is The Man Behind All Of This. Listen To Him Explain Why These Children Need Our Help.
Eric is originally from Belgium and for the last 10 years he has dedicated his life to charity work. He explains that in 3 months time the children will be left on the streets, lost, cold and hungry. A good samaritan has donated 5 acres of land and now we have the potential to give these children a new home. We now need to raise the funds to build and create a safe place for them to live.
