Story
Following Hurricane Irma on September 6th 2017, all schools in the British Virgin Islands have been very badly damaged both structurally and much of the equipment inside. If fact over half of the schools need to be completely flattened and rebuilt so many children are now being taught in tents and with limited facilities and equipment. We plan to donate play, sports and other equipment to local schools to help children thrive, even in these temporary or damaged learning environments.

6 years agoThat's all of the $1700 (£1300) that people kindly donated last Autumn now handed out to buy equipment for children in BVI. We gave $300 to Althea Scatliffe School, $350 to Girlguides, $510's worth of sports equipment to Leonora Delville School, $500 to Alexandrina Maduro School for new reading books and $40 bought equipment from the Red Cross Thrift Shop for the Play Group. All these things will be greatly appreciated by children here in BVI. Many thanks to everyone who generously contributed!

6 years agoMany thanks for the generous group of parents and friends of St Andrews School and Church who made donations at the Christingle Service. I have now received a cheque for £162.80 from this event. That is the fundraising now over. We raised £713 on this page and an additional £583.15 in cash and cheques. That makes a super total of £1296.15. Huge thanks to everyone who has contributed and I will keep you updated about what equipment we donate to schoolchildren in BVI. Thank you and Happy New Year!

Our family moved to the beautiful, friendly British Virgin Islands two weeks before Hurricane Irma hit. We were horrified by the devastation the hurricane caused. The boys and I are temporarily in England but thinking of BVI and want to help make life more fun for children there.
