I am currently at Mary Hare school for the deaf, and I have been given the opportunity to help other deaf children in Sri Lanka through a charity called 'voluntears' (www.voluntears.info) who help deaf children in poorer countries.

While there for 2 weeks, I will be refurbishing the children's school environment, making it a better place for them to learn and live. I am also looking forward to working with the children, teaching them BSL and learning some of their sign language and about their lives and culture.

I have always wanted to work with children and I believe that this will really help with my career goals
