Weʼre raising £1,500 to help provide sensory kits for children with autism.
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered nonprofit.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
Caleidoscope CIC is not for profit organisation that was founded to break the stigma of autism, promote inclusion and create diverse communities where difference is celebrated , not discriminated.
It was founded by a mum of an autistic boy after the family was left unsupported having to figure out the challenges that autism bring themselves.
Thanks to my son, autism has been my inspiration that changed my family life and my career. From being a teacher I turned into an autism specialist and autistic people's voice.
Caleidoscope CIC runs Art and Lego clubs for autistic children, workshops for parents and professionals as well as 1:1 support.
Autism is not a disability but a different ability and I see it as a superpower rather than a genetic fault.
As Grandin Temple said:
Autism is part of who I am.
Autism should never be attempted to change people with autism. The difference is what makes them beautiful.
We are trying to raise funds to be able to provide sensory kits for children with autism. As the schools remain closed lots of children with autism and ADHD have no access to sensory resources and therefore their anxiety is much higher, they are unable to process what is happening in the world, they are unable to self-regulate themselves. Sensory resources are essential to deal with anxiety, stress, they help to relax ans stimulate your sensory system so you can cope in your daily activities.
We work with children's centres, nurseries and schools to ensure the kits get to the most needy children.
For every £3 we can get small sensory stuff such as stress balls, tangle toy.
For every £5 donated we are able to get a pack of 3 chewy toys or a calming light changing egg.
For every £10 we are able to provide a wobble cushion or a glowing pillow.
We offer two different sensory packs - each of them costs £37. It is not much but for some families that is not affordable which means that their autistic children's mental well-being is affected.
Every £££ will count so thank you in advance for your donation.
