    Story

Calstock Advent Windows returns this year, hopefully giving our village an extra sparkle and shine with festive cheer. This is a living advent calendar, opening up windows in our beautiful village throughout December. Follow the trail every evening, spotting the little Christmas Reindeer in each window as you go.

Our first window opens on December 1st at the Lime Kiln Gallery. It will stay illuminated til 9pm, then each subsequent night a new window will open - along with all the previous windows. Warm mince pies will also be at the opening to kick us off in true festive style.

On Christmas Eve the final window will open at 5pm. We will share an outdoor ‘meet in the street’ outside the Boot Inn, full of festive cheer, carol singing, mince pies, mulled wine, snow(!) and prizes for completed trail maps.

The advent window locations will be published on a map, available for you to buy. Your map also has the trail activity sheet for spotting the little reindeer hiding in every advent window.

You can get your Map trail guide from Lishe, the Lime Kiln Gallery, from Fleur & Tom at Providence House or the honesty stall outside The Old Post Office on Fore Street.

Last year we raised an incredible £1000 through the Calstock Advent Windows event. This enabled the construction of a sensory garden at school in the main playground and the continued development of the outside learning space for all school and preschool children.

This year all funds raised through Calstock Advent Windows will support the redevelopment of Classroom 1 at Calstock Primary School. With 3 academic years sharing this one classroom, the money we hope to raise, through your support, will provide a raised reading area for the children to use and further development of the learning space.

This is a small event with a wide reaching impact on our community, both in Christmas spirit and much needed fundraising.

We hope you have a great time exploring this year's Advent Windows. Thank you for your support and Merry Christmas!
