Story
As you are all aware - Back in 2014, Stuart Robb was involved in a car accident whilst visiting his cousin Ally MacDonald over in Florida.
Following the accident, there were some excellent local fundraising events such as a charity football match followed by live music, raffle and auction night.
However - fast forward to 2017, our wish is to raise awareness of Stuart's current situation and support his ongoing rehabilitation.
The idea is to accumulate funds that will support Stuart and his family, and offer the opportunity to invest in new equipment such as a new wheelchair.
Stuart has always been a keen footballer, and while this event may not incorporate football, the participating runners (Calum, Stewart, Ally, Adam and Joshua) all intend to wear the commerative jerseys worn in the Stuart Robb Charity Football Match at the Stirling Marathon.
Headway is the UK-wide charity that works to improve life after brain injury.
Headway has a couple of Highland based departments in Dingwall, Embo and Nairn respectively. The main focus of these support groups is on social activities, which provide warm, friendly and relaxing environments.
Services which Headway Highland offer are - Carer Support Groups, Counselling, Information, Outreach/Community Support and Support with Volunteering Opportunities.
Our wish is to raise money for Headway Highland so they can continue to host activities and events for those affected. Activities vary from arts and crafts, board games, table tennis, bowling, quiz’s to just simply having a discussion over a tea/coffee. By donating to this charity, it will offer financial support for Headway to continue and develop their excellent service and offer Stuart and others affected the chance to progress their potential rehab further.
All proceeds raised will be split equally between each cause.
We are grateful for your support,
Thanks
Calum MacDonald, Adam MacDonald, Ally Macdonald, Stewart Shearer & Joshua Rodgers.
