    Story

    Hello I'm Sam,

I am 16 years old and currently in Year 12 at Kings Langley School. In Summer 2018 I am going to Cambodia with my school where I will be learning about a different part of the world and I am very excited to actually go to Cambodia and see a different culture. The most important reason for travelling to Cambodia is to help the local communities by improving conditions in the area. Whilst I am there, I will participate in various community projects such as improving educational infrastructure and living standards of rural communities. For example, our aim is to help construct new schools and add at least 4 new fresh water pumps which will allow the residents to drink safe water which will have a massive impact on their everyday lives. I will also assist in numerous environmental programmes such as planting trees and crops to create new opportunities for the people to grow their own food and to become self -sufficient. I will be taking part in a five day trek through the Cambodian jungle with just hammocks as our beds to enable us to gain a deeper understanding of how people live in Cambodia and be able to see the beautiful, untouched landscape. This will be mentally and physically tough due to the terrain whilst also being a fantastic personal challenge for me to complete.

I will develop lifelong skills such as resilience and self-confidence whilst undertaking life-enhancing projects which will improve people's lives for the better. Your donations will get me one step closer to the once in a lifetime experience and more importantly the opportunity to help the Cambodian people.

To partly fund this trip, I trained as a life guard over the summer and now work at my local sports centre every weekend. All my earnings will go towards this trip. I would be so grateful for any donations big or small to top up my own savings. I need vital injections and kit to buy before I travel.

Thank you for spending your valuable time reading this and I hope this has persuaded you to donate. Any donations, big or small will make a huge difference to the people in Cambodia. If you donate it will give me the opportunity to help improve the lives of so many people.

A huge thanks in advance and please help spread the word about my forthcoming project.
