My name is Cameron Emerson, I am a pupil at Bangor Grammar School. In the Summer of 2018 I will be travelling with fellow pupils to Kampala and Gulu in Uganda. The purpose of our expedition is to spend one week doing outreach work with the inner city homeless children of Kampala and another week building a nursery school in the village, this should help give the Ugandan children opportunities similar to those enjoyed by Western children. This a completely self-funded endeavour, in association with ABAANA, a charity based in Bangor, my home town.

The reason I want to partake in this mission to Uganda is that I see it as an opportunity to build on the work my school has already done and challenge myself to understand the daily hardships of those less fortunate than myself.

Part of the challenge is that I have to raise the travel and accommodation funds myself in full. The amount I hope to raise here will cover half of my overall cost. I am also carrying out various other fundraising activities in my local community raise the remainder.
