Story
In memory of Max, his wife, Helen, has set up the Max Imhoff scholarship fund to help underprivileged children who are hoping to study a science subject at university. This was something Max was very keen on when he was working in Mwanza. In Tanzania you often find very able students coming into the sixth form from a local school, usually on some funding, who are able to get a place at university through having good grades but might have some financial hardship when taking up the place. So the scholarship can help with their accommodation costs, travel and text books. The students chosen will be Tanzanian and the money will go directly to the student, no middle man or agent. I will be running the Purbeck marathon in September to raise money for this scholarship. If you would like to sponsor me and contribute towards this project/ fund please donate here.

7 years agoPurbeck marathon completed today, under 5 hours despite a foot injury, which started at mile 16. Many thanks to everybody for your generous donations. Terminé la maratón de Purbeck, en menos de 5 horas, a pesar de una lesión en el pie que me comenzó a partir de la milla 16. Muchas gracias a todos por sus donaciones.

Max was a colleague at Bryanston school and became a good friend of mine. He was always a warm, charming and charismatic person and everybody at the school was very fond of him. He was a popular teacher with both students and staff.
