Story
Hi there. We’re Team DBT, that stands for Dexter, Bella and Taz which is who we are.. We are going to do a long walk in May, along the West Highland Way in Scotland. It is a 95 mile footpath from Glasgow, going the length of Loch Lomond, through Glencoe pass and Loch Leven finishing up in Fort William. It’s not like we’re walking the Himalayas or anything but it is OUR adventure and we thought it would be a good idea to walk for a few local charities. 100% of monies raised will go to the charities. We will tackle the walk over a week staying at campsites overnight and have support from our human friends who will set up camp for us. One of our mums and a friend will walk with us to show us the way, if they can keep up. We will be doing between 12 and 14 miles a day. To get us ready for that we will be doing some training walks around the local area. Pier to pier and back is a good one. We will let you all know how we are getting on with that.
I’m Dexter. I’m 5 years old and a bit of a mummy’s boy. I am very nervous of other dogs and children but have no problem with horses, cows, sheep, pigs, goats, llamas (LLAMAS?? Don’t ask) ducks, geese etc. So, I am walking for the charity GREENLAND GROVE ANIMAL SANCTUARY which is based in St Osyth. This is a forever home for many of the above mentioned animals, and more, and is run tirelessly by Carol and Martin and their team of volunteers. An amazing loving and caring place.

7 years agoHi Dexter here, We are leaving in the morning for our trip to Scotland. Mum's rucksack is getting heavier and heavier. Mostly full of our stuff, glad I won't be carrying it. Hope it doesn't mean she won't keep up with us, would hate to lose her.

7 years agoWell, only two weeks to go now, getting a bit excited but hoping the weather warms up a bit. Mum took us for a really long walk a few days ago and we enjoyed a bit of beach and a bit of countryside. Heard our first cuckoo which held us up a bit as mum wanted to hang about and try and see it. Yawn, yawn, can't do with this sitting around. Anyway we think we are all ready for our adventure and are counting down the days. And, don't forget to come along to the table top sale at St. Osyth village hall, 2 o clock Saturday.
