Some of the most effective treatments for neuroblastoma are not available via the health service, or covered by health insurance. This leaves the family of those affected with the awful task of raising the substantial cost of treatment overseas, travel expenses and the costs of living.
Crowdfunding enables people to raise the money needed by gathering support from family, friends and the wider community, enabling sums to be raised that would be impossible through other means.
Florence was diagnosed with stage 4 Neuroblastoma, aged just 16 months old. Her parents raised over £300,000 to fund her treatment.
