Many people from the village and further afield use Gartocharn Church and the Kilmaronock Millennium Hall regularly for a vast range of events from the Sunday service to Weddings or the Friday Coffee morning and Toddlers to name just a few. From attending and helping at these events we have formed the idea of creating an outside space attached to both the hall and the church which would benefit from the views towards the Loch. This community garden would be a place for anyone to enjoy, for a picnic on a sunny day or a rest after a walk along the Aber Path as well as when attending events.

The plan is to clear the area, repair the stone dyke wall, build steps to allow access from the Hall and buy benches, planters and plants. The local toddlers group has some grant funding left over that they would like to contribute, but not enough to complete the project; so, I’m asking the community to support us through donations and volunteering. I think this would be a wonderful addition to our village and hope you feel the same.
