When I was a lazy teenager, I always remember my late Grandfather who had both legs amputated due to diabetes telling me "you've got legs so use them!" So I thought what better way than to climb a mountain whilst raising money and awareness of diabetes in his memory.

Ok, so Snowdon isn't quite Kilimanjaro but for me it'll feel like it! 😂 So on 23rd April, I am climbing Snowdon and am determined to reach the summit!

Those of you who know me well will know that I have had health issues in the past year, so whilst many people climb Snowdon every day, it's not going to be easy for me!

I would be very, very grateful for any sponsor money to help give me a reason to push myself all the way to the top! All money I raise will be donated to the Diabetes unit in Prince Phillip hospital, so it will be helping a local cause 😊.

The Diabetes unit is where my Dad has his monthly check ups for his type 1 diabetes, which he was diagnosed with in 1988. Since then he has had to inject himself with insulin three times a day, every day, but never moans about it or shows that it can sometimes get him down.

Including some of my family members, the Diabetes unit help a great deal of patients and I would like to say a big thank you to them with your help.

Diabetes is the fastest growing health threat of our times. Managing diabetes is a 24 hour a day, 7 days a week job, and the consequences of getting it wrong are severe - blindness, amputations, premature death. Diabetes management currently costs the NHS £60bln / year, and that number is growing. It is estimated that the number of people with Diabetes of all types in the UK will increase from 4 million today, to 5 million in 8 years time. Lets find a cure.
