Story
Graffiti is generally not pretty; attracts more graffiti and sends a signal that an area is rundown and unsafe. The Council will not clean property that they do not own. Network Rail does not clean normal graffiti except in exceptional circumstances. Brickwork is porous and once tagged it is very hard to get clean. Network Rail has given us a licence until Dec 2018 to clean this bridge. I would like to jetwash the bridge on both sides of the road - removing the dirt and moss and seal the brickwork and put on anti-graffiti coating so that the next time it is vandalised it is easier to remove the graffiti. The latest attack was 21 October 2017. As the tagging was on the painted bridge on Barton the vet side. It was extremely time consuming to remove but possible. If it had happened this side it would probably not have been possible to get off.

I regularly re-paint over new graffiti on the wall next to the vet. The side next to St Augustine's Road has not been painted and is highly porous. In the event of a major attack it is likely to be impossible to clean. I would like to clean and seal before it is too late.
