WELCOME TO THE MONSTER!

Cameron has talked me into swimming 2.5k with him (166 lengths of New Beacon pool ) to raise funds for two AMAZING causes. Below, I have included some information about each one and an outline of why we are crazy enough to think up, and attempt, such a challenge!

Perinatal Mental Health is poorly understood and provided for in our country, but the research shows that targeted and carefully selected support and therapy is successful in helping mothers overcome difficulties, in particular, those with OCD.

We are raising funds for a local volunteer group that works to raise the profile of perinatal OCD amongst women/families & within the medical profession. They provide education talks & access to support/information about current, proven research that offers hope & sustained recovery to mothers deprived of their right to enjoy motherhood in all its wonder and challenge. Every mother deserves that chance.

Ovarian cancer is the UK's deadliest gynaecological disease and is too often found too late. We are also fundraising for support groups committed to raising awareness to help women beating ovarian cancers and find out about medical research into their diagnosis and treatment - which is desperately lagging behind the treatment options available for other cancers. The miracles of some of these treatment advances gives someone very dear to us the chance to fight this monster day by day. Every woman deserves the same.

The money raised for our Monster Swim will be split 60:40 .
