We're off to Switzerland with our guides, but it's so expensive and many are unable to join us! Can you help us bring the cost down?

My name is Carly Barrow and I am a guide leader at 2nd Caversham Guides. Next year our unit is celebrating 100 years since we began; we are incredibly proud to have been around so long and are planning a really special celebration. We’re off Switzerland with five adults and fifteen girls to visit Our Chalet, one of the Guiding World Centres and the spiritual home of Guiding.

This will be a guiding trip of a lifetime and will open their eyes to all that Guiding has to offer. We really hope to inspire our guides to continue their lives in guiding and to become the next generation of young women to take the lead with our organisation.

We are super excited and already planning our itinerary which we hope will include;

• Visits to Our Chalet as well as the Scout Centre at Kandersteg

• Spectacular sights at Interlaken, Choleren Gorge, Silleren and Hahnenmoos

• Adventurous activities including Gorge Walking, High Ropes Park, Tobogganing, White water rafting

• A real Swiss Experience with cable cars, mountain games, hiking, chocolate and Swiss night

As you can imagine with such a fantastic opportunity there is a big price tag attached, especially when we include some of the adventurous activities, many of which are unique to the Swiss environment. At present the anticipated trip cost is £850 - £1000 per person, pending final arrangements. Along with our girls we are planning bag packing, cake sales and sponsored challenges to raise funds.
