Story
In August 2018, two Learning Disability nurses, a fellow Occupational Therapy student and myself have been given an amazing opportunity to volunteer in a Special Educational Needs school in Madadeni, South Africa. The children that attend the school have complex physical and/or learning disabilities.
The volunteering trip is run by Project Zulu which supports educational development projects.
We will spend 4 weeks there and will be using our shared expertise to work alongside the teachers in the school to help to create a supportive learning environment for the children through implementing new strategies and equipment.
The funds I am raising will go directly to the school will be used for specialist teaching equipment or resources which will be implemented in our time there.
I am very lucky to have been given the opportunity for this amazing experience and I can't wait to go.
Thank you very much.
