Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
We only had one chance of ivf on the nhs, i am 41 years of age so they only offer one cycle, my partner has a 5 year old little boy from a previous relationship but i myself dont have any of my own, my tubes are damaged which means i cant conceive naturally so my only option is ivf treatment.
We went ahead with our one chance through the NHS, we started in april 2018, the short protacol was first which didnt work for us i ovulated to early so the egg collection didnt go ahead, a few months later we started the long protacol, after a long couple of months we had got to the egg collection day and then to the transfer day, all was going well until half way through the 2 week wait i started to get strong cramping pains and then i got my dreaded period, i knew before it had happened that that was it, it was all over, we then got to the day of the test, i already knew the outcome but still had to do it, NOT PREGNANT.
Heartbroken and devastated, our only option now is the go privately which im sure you are all aware is not cheap, after speaking to a friend who suggested fundraising to me i looked into it, ive read other stories of couples in the same situation as myself and partner and just hope by telling our story we might get the same chance as others to be parents one day.
