£485raised of £1,500 target by 27 supporters

Weʼve raised £485 to support the Ceylon Cricket Foundation improve grassroots cricket in Sri Lanka by tackling 'Rough Runner 2018' (15km, 20+ obstacles).

    Colombo, Sri Lanka
Funded on Wednesday, 24th October 2018

    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

If you can dream it, you can do it...

The sports field not only provides youngsters with an arena to try and develop new skills, it is a great teacher of character. Youngsters all around the world dream of becoming the next Cristiano Ronaldo, Sonny Bill Williams, Sachin Tendulkar or Usain Bolt.

These dreams are very much alive in the rural villages of Sri Lanka, with 100s of youngsters each day grabbing any opportunity to pay homage to the national sport and practise their cricket skills - in the yard, in the classroom, on the dusty track...all dreaming of being 'discovered' and becoming the next Sanath Jayasuriya.

To help turn these dreams into reality, these young Sri Lankan cricketers need access to proper cricket facilities, expert coaching, playing kit and equipment...and the opportunity to excel in the game.

Please help these youngsters follow their dreams, through supporting the brilliant work being undertaken by the Ceylon Cricket Foundation.

Training is in full swing (with a bit of ding!) ... well, maybe not quite in yet! Need the flippin' white stuff to 'do one' so the three amigos can start to get some good mileage under their trainers. Pretty sure Diane is getting those miles done though!! All be worth it if we can hit our target ... and then drink our body weights in rum to celebrate!!! 3 months pretty much to the day ... so please get supporting!!

Myself & my Rough Runner team buddies Catherine & Diane are supporting the work of the Ceylon Cricket Foundation. Our children have been so fortunate in having ready access to top quality coaching, equipment, facilities ... & we would love Sri Lankan youngsters to have this too.
