We are a small cheerleading team from West Cumbria who compete in Allstar Cheerleading competitions against teams from all over the country.
Recently this 13-strong group of young ladies did the unimaginable, they entered Varsity’s Jamfest Competition in the prestigious Winter Gardens at Blackpool. The team were in the biggest division against 9 other teams.
Despite having setbacks in the warm up on top of the usual pre-performance nerves, the young ladies went out and nailed their routine.
Then came the wait for the awards to be announced……the team were crowned champions of their division, they were then announced ‘Grand Champions’ the team to have the highest score of their whole level, including going up against senior teams twice their age.
After all that they were then awarded a Gold paid bid to compete in a competition in America, Las Vegas to be exact.
We were completely blown away by what had been achieved that day and to a certain extent I’m still in disbelief about it all. This is a team of young girls that I have trained from scratch and they have just achieved something amazing!

Unfortunately, we are unable to attend this competition in America due to lack of funds and short notice.
This lead us to look at our fundraising calendar, we would like to start building a fund for the team for other future opportunities that may come our way that have not been planned for or are out of the usual club calendar.
