Weʼre raising £200,000 to After suffering from years of abuse and domestic violence I would like to open a support centre to help others.
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
As an abuse victim myself I'd like to raise money to help support vulnerable women who are or could be victims of sexual, emotional and physical abuse, in a safe and supportive environment.
A little on my background
From birth, I witnessed my mum be a victim of severe domestic violence and emotional abuse. For the rest of her life, I watched her struggling to cope, she was left with life-long scars both physically and mentally, battling everyday with low confidence and insecurities.
This had a huge knock-on effect to the rest of her life and unfortunately, mine too. I was diagnosed as a child with anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder.
History had a way of repeating itself and I too went on to suffer serious sexual abuse and domestic violence.
When I was just 17, my mum passed away unexpectedly at her young age of 37.
I was left alone, pregnant and in an abusive relationship.I had moved home, I had no parents for support, no friends, feeling scared, isolated and vulnerable.
After my partner hit me down a flight of stairs while I was 7 months pregnant,
I was not going to put my children through what I had been through.
Most nights after I put my children to bed I would lay awake crying. I began to feel scared in my own home, I began to fear going out and had this constant feeling of loneliness.
WHY I'M ASKING FOR FUNDING.
I want to support other vulnerable women, including young mums, abuse victims and girls that have little friends or family to help them build a positive support network. I want to give them a safe place to go, to build friendships with other women that understand them. To help build their strength and confidence and know THEY ARE NOT ALONE.
