Story
In September last year 2016 there was a big Earthquake in Bukoba Tanzania which is my home town and my immediate family live there. This happened on Saturday the 10th September and caused a great deal of destruction and sadly 17 people were killed, also lots of houses and many buildings were destroyed or damaged. More significantly for me, my dad, who will be 102 years old in September, his house was damaged beyond repair see photo above. He lives with my sister and my niece with learning disabilities with her two boys. Therefore this has been a difficult time for everyone in the village and the whole community. The cost of rebuilding the house was estimated to be £17,000 and so far we managed to raise £12,000. Therefore now I am trying to raise another £5000 with the hope of completing the whole house.
Some of you will remember that in January this year I went to Tanzania for 6 weeks to help some of the work and great progress was made. The Building work for the main structure is completed, as you can see in the photo below. Many thanks for your amazing support, this is because of YOU who supported the first phase by your donations. The work we have done used all the funds that we collected and this is why I am cycling from Leicester to Skegness (87miles) to try and raise the rest of the money. This remaining work includes the floor, doors, windows, mosquito wire and plastering which will enable my dad to move in. Please give anything you can

7 years agoWe did it. A big thank you to Alaister for his cycling skills and leading this event, we made it. Started 7am and finished at 5pm, after having 3stops. We cycled 94miles in total, which was fantastic. It was great to see my wife Pauline and mother-in-law with all my children when they brought us some breakfast and then meeting us at the end in Skegness. A big thank you to John for his support and coming over to Skegness to bring us back home. Another big thank you to you all for your financial and prayer suport. I realy enjoyed fish and chips
